What is Mashru?

Mashru is a fabric made by interlacing silk and cotton yarns. This fabric is pre-dominantly woven and worn in the Kutchh area of India which forms a part of western India, Gujrat an arid and dry region. The light weightedness, the cool feeling and the vibrant colors of the fabric makes this an inherent part against the geography of this region.

What are Ajrakh prints?

The highly skilled and patterned ajrakh block-printing is believed to have been brought to Kachchh from Sind 400 years ago. ‘Azrak’, means blue and like the name suggests you will often find the background of Ajrak printed fabrics traditionally blue.
The authentic Ajrakh printed fabrics are traditionally vegetable dyed.
